Premixed bioceramic materials have properties that bring into question the long-held view that capping cariously exposed pulp should not be attempted. Per-radicular periodontitis occurs in a tooth when microbes are present in a necrotic pulp space. If the pulp is vital, peri-radicular periodontitis does not occur. Therefore, as dentists, we should try to maintain a healthy vital pulp, if it is feasible. In fact, the health vital pulp is the best root filling possible. Read article in Dentistry Today
